Collaboration Strategies

Collaborating in a Space

  • Collaborators work together in a Space to create insights and engineered assets. The Space owner will establish the specification of the Space i.e., the compute, data products, tools and users. If you are not the Space owner yourself then make sure you know how to contact the owner as that person is responsible for inviting collaborators to join a Space and adding or removing data products and assets.

  • Each collaborator has their own compute environment so there is never any conflict with other collaborators. You can do your work at any time.

  • If you are a Space owner:

    • You do not need to wait for all collaborators to accept an invitation in order to start work in the Space.

    • Make sure you provide your Space collaborators with Use access to each asset that you’ve added to the Space

    • As the owner of a collaborative Space, you must pass ownership to another user in your Organization before you can leave the Space.

  • If you are a Space collaborator:

    • Make sure you have the necessary subscriptions to activate a space. If you are missing a subscription, please reach out to the data product owner (they can be identified in the product description).

    • Make sure you have Use access to all assets in the space. If you are missing access to any asset, please reach out to the asset owner (they can be identified in the asset description) and request they share access with you.

    • If you do not have the necessary subscriptions to the data products or space usage for the assets within the collaborative Space, the Space appears as locked.

    • As a collaborator you can leave that Space at any time.

  • Share your tables, notebooks, queries and other files with your fellow collaborators within a Space or assign ‘Use’ access (if the items are assets).

Collaborating With Assets (Data Uploading)

  • Assign collaborators to assets who can jump in and help define asset parameters as you go through the asset creation process.

Collaboration and Access

  • An asset creator should be considered the owner of that asset. This person should make sure they manage the access to their assets. To enable users to know who the asseet owner is, the owner should include their name or email address in the asset description.

  • If you urgently require a subscription for a data product to unlock a Space, you can independently activate a one-week free trial for that specific product without needing to contact CoreLogic support.
